You read a lot of bad things about the legislation: The laws are too numerous and also poorly made. But is this statement really true? What are the quality characteristics of good legislation, and in particular what constitutes a good process? And who actually has what influence on this process? The multi-year research project “Factors of good legislation” at the Universities of Bern and Zurich, which has received substantial funding from the Foundation for the Administration of Justice, is investigating these questions. Three doctoral students are investigating the key phases of the legislative process in various policy areas. See links to the project website for further information.
